At the invitation of the mysterious Elijah, the shy, bookish Molly travels to the tiny island of Little Neck for his annual party. She catches up with him in Poland, and tries to convince him to reconcile with his wife. When this does not look like it will happen, she runs away again, this time to locate her mother and try to convince her of the same thing. Along the way she has many adventures.
